If you’ve been following me for a while you’ve ‘heard’ me say don’t build your brand LIVE your brand and YOU are a big part of your business brand. Therefore your image is important, fellow consultant Tamara Rasberry, President & CEO of Rasberry Consulting, LLC offers image consulting to strengthen your brand as well as social media consulting to improve upon your marketing strategy. Check out my interview with Tamara as well as her initial pitch.
PITCH! Rasberry Consulting helps small business owners create and maintain consistent branding via social media & image consulting. A small business is represented not only by its product/service but also by its web/social presence and the owner’s visual presentation. I help ensure that clients put their best foot forward online and off. http://rasberryconsulting.com
What key piece of advice would you give to other business owners?
I would tell business owners that it’s important to be aware of the fact YOU are your brand. Your actions, your personal style and your overall presence represent your brand just as much as your website, marketing materials and business cards and of course, the quality of your product/service.
What question do your customers ask most often? And how do you answer?
This answer is two-fold because it depends on whether someone is hiring me for social media consulting or image consulting. Social media consulting clients most often ask if having a social presence will really benefit their business. I make sure they understand that these days you can’t afford to NOT have a social presence. Image consulting clients most often ask how they can update their style for the least amount of cost/effort. I respond during the consultation because each person’s action items will vary.
How do you define success?
I define (business) success as being financially solvent, consistently gaining new business and retaining repeat clients, being able to enjoy your work and having time to relax as well as give back to your community.
Why did you start your business?
I wanted to start a business that would allow me to help others while combining my interests and skill sets. As a licensed cosmetologist, makeup artist, personal stylist, writer and social media enthusiast, I decided that I could best accomplish this by helping other small business owners build their brands both via their social presence and their visual presence. Thus, Rasberry Consulting, LLC was born!
What separates your business from the competition?
What separates my business from the competition is that I don’t provide only social media consulting or only image consulting. A client can hire me for either or both. I am both creative and analytical and thus can provide my clients with a broader range of services.
What are your hobbies or interests outside of business?
My interests are reading and music. These days I don’t get to kick back with a book as much as I’d like to but I love attending concerts.
What book, website, or blog (besides your own) do you recommend to other small business owners? The book that I recommend is ‘The 7 Principles of Public Speaking’ by Richard Zeoli. It’s critical for small business owners to be comfortable with public speaking in order to promote their business. It will also provide additional opportunities via speaking engagements, workshops, etc. I read this book and found it to be very helpful.
