Your business brand is an extension of you when presenting your business it is important to not only put your best ‘foot’ forward but to also put your best face forward. Many business owners wouldn’t think to hire a makeup artist for a speaking engagement or big meeting but that added touch can give you a polished look that further expresses your brand. I met Ivy Cooper of Ivy LaArtista Beauty & Image Services many years ago prior to the launch of her business. We later reconnected through social media, read my interview with Ivy, her original pitch, and check out her ‘Fashionista Friend’ service specifically designed with you in mind.
PITCH! Ivy LaArtista offers image services to meet personal, professional, and social needs. We are not here to make you beautiful, because we believe every woman was born that way. Our mission is to help you embrace the fullness of your beauty by enhancing your image with our artistic skills. http://www.IvyLaArtista.com
What key piece of advice would you give to other business owners?
Never see giving up as an option. Being an entrepreneur, we face several challenges and tests, but we have to set make a decision to be “purposely focused” towards our goals. We may change our motives, our methods, or our means of accomplishing our goals, but we have to be progressive, and determined to fulfill our life’s Purpose.
What question do your customers ask most often? And how do you answer?
Most people ask “How can I learn to do my own makeup?” To which I respond “embrace the fullness of your beauty™” and begin by enhancing your natural features. A lot of times women feel that makeup is about doing a make OVER and they get intimidated and don’t know where to start. See makeup as a tool to ENHANCE your features not to conceal them. Most of us want to put our best image forward in the world. If you are serious about presenting a polished image of yourself, I recommend investing in a basic makeup tutorial session to learn techniques that you can use for any occasion. I offer this assistance to women from all walks of life. It’s a great way to learn what products to use and how to use them to enhance your OWN beauty. It can save you time, money, and frustration of using the wrong product the wrong way.
How do you define success?
For me, success is being true to myself, true to others, and true to my Purpose, consistently.
Does the name of your business have a significant meaning?
Yes, of course! Ivy is my birth name and LaArtista is Spanish for “The Artist”. I love art and have been given many artistic talents from The Creator. I use my artistic abilities in so many ways that categorizing them was too restricting. So, I embraced myself as simply being “The Artist” which empowers me to be unlimited in my artistic potential.
What separates your business from the competition?
I do not have the goal of making ANY person beautiful, because The Creator already did that. I truly believe that every person is born beautiful. I have an artistic gift to enhance their features and help them embrace the fullness of their own beauty. I approach beauty and image services from the perspective of empowering the self-esteem of the client. I want every client to walk away feeling that their inner beauty has been uncovered and that it is being represented in their outer image.
What and or who inspires you?
The Creator is my ultimate inspiration. I look at everything around me and I see so much beauty in nature, people, and the world. I look to God as my constant source of inspiration, because the creativity is infinite. That is why I chose “Creatively Inspired™” as my personal slogan.
